What is a mechanical engineer?
Well this is a rather complex question, not easy to answer many of our colleagues and friends believe that a mechanical engineer is a guy who fixes cars and has a title, and well I think this is a wrong idea of something which in actually a mechanical engineer, so then I will make a small list of jobs that would occupy this type of engineering because it relates each occupation.
a) design of machines.
Referred to the engineer or person who is dedicated to creating a machine for the benefit of a company or the same in their work, machines can be of any size and of course it will depend on the preparation that takes the person who performs
b) optimization of production processes.
Production processes are a sequence of activities required to develop a product (goods or services).
This definition of "simple" is not much since it will greatly the productivity of the process.
Usually there are several paths you can take to produce a product, whether this a good or a service. But the careful selection of each of its steps and the sequence of them will help us to achieve the main goals of producing
c) quality control.
Quality Control will be sworn in as a strategy to ensure continuous quality improvement. Program to ensure continued customer satisfaction through external and internal development of product quality and service.
d) metal.
Metallurgy is the science and technique of obtaining and processing of metals from metal ores, to the non-metallic. Also studied the production of alloys, the quality control of processes and their control against corrosion. You could say that is one that will be in contact with the materials whether metal or other material, and analyze what is best for the work required
e) product planning.
Planning is the creation of the product and is the starting point for carrying out the marketing program of the company. The product planning for all activities to allow producers and dealers to determine which product lines the company should take.
f) maintenance of heavy machinery.
It is responsible for maintaining order in everything related to the machines that are in the business, if he does his job well the machines will not have a proper functioning and this affects the development of the company.
g) advising
Maybe there can not get a job at some point because we see things with this crisis is becoming more complicated, so another option that you can have is to give advice to people who look like us or having some resemblance to our careers, another option is to advise engineers within a company, this field is very wide but few engineers hope to do this
h) evaluation.
Is responsible for seeing that project should be more to the company, sometimes there will be several options to choose from and if we are prepared to make a wrong decision which could cost jobs, whether we are prepared for this type of work is that we are already metiéndonos in the heads of other professions,
If we realize the work of engineers is very large not only limited to something that has to do with a car, a vehicle or a machine, if the preparation is right may come to get the jobs that never would have thought, what is important not to lose sight of their goals and are encouraged to explore a career that has to do with mechanical engineering.

Funciones de un Ingeniero
¿A que se dedica un ingeniero mecánico?
Bueno esta es una pregunta algo compleja, no es fácil de contestar pero muchos de nuestro compañeros y amigos piensan que un ingeniero mecánico es un tipo que arregla coches y tiene un titulo, y bueno creo que esta es una idea algo equivocada de lo que en realidad hace un ingeniero mecánico, así que a continuación hare una pequeña lista de los empleos que podría ocupar este tipo de ingenieros y a que se refiere cada ocupación.
a) diseño de máquinas.
Se refiere al ingeniero o persona que se dedica a crear una maquina para el beneficio de una empresa o de el mismo en su trabajo, pueden ser maquinas de cualquier tamaño y obvio eso dependerá de la preparación que tenga la persona que lo realiza
b) optimización de procesos productivos.
Los procesos Productivos son una Secuencia de actividades requeridas para elaborar un producto (bienes o servicios).
Esta definición “sencilla” no lo es tanto, pues de ella depende en alto grado la productividad del proceso.
Generalmente existen varios caminos que se pueden tomar para producir un producto, ya sea este un bien o un servicio. Pero la selección cuidadosa de cada uno de sus pasos y la secuencia de ellos nos ayudarán a lograr los principales objetivos de producción
c) control de calidad.
El Control de la Calidad se posesiona como una estrategia para asegurar el mejoramiento continuo de la calidad. Programa para asegurar la continua satisfacción de los clientes externos e internos mediante el desarrollo permanente de la calidad del producto y sus servicios.
d) metalurgia.
La metalurgia es la ciencia y técnica de la obtención y tratamiento de los metales desde minerales metálicos, hasta los no metálicos. También estudia la producción de aleaciones, el control de calidad de los procesos vinculados así como su control contra la corrosión. Se podría decir que es aquel que estará en contactos con los materiales ya sean de metal u otro tipo de material, y analizara cual es el mejor para el trabajo que se requiere
e) planeación de producto.
La planeación es la creación del producto y es el punto de partida para llevar a cabo el programa de mercadotecnia de la empresa. La planeación del producto corresponde a todas las actividades que permitan a los productores e intermediarios determinar que línea de productos debe adoptar la compañía.
f) mantenimiento de maquinaria pesada.
Es el encargado de mantener en orden todo lo referente a las maquinas que hay en la empresa, si el no hace bien su trabajo las maquinas no tendrán un buen funcionamiento y esto afectara el desarrollo de la empresa.
g) asesorías
Puede ser que no exista la posibilidad no obtener un empleo en algún momento, ya vemos que con esta crisis las cosas cada vez se complican mas, así que otra opción que se puede tener es la de dar asesorías a personas que estudien lo mismo que nosotros o que tengan algún parecido a nuestras carreras, otra opción es la de asesorar ingenieros dentro de una empresa, este campo es muy amplio aunque pocos ingenieros aspiramos a hacer esto
h) evaluación de proyectos.
Se encarga de ver que proyecto conviene mas a la empresa, a veces habrá varias opciones a elegir y si n o estamos preparados para hacerlos tomaremos una decisión incorrecta que podría costarnos el empleo, si estamos preparados para este tipo de trabajo es por que ya vamos metiéndonos en la cabeza de otras profesiones,
Si nos damos cuenta la labor de los ingenieros es muy amplia no solo se limitan a algo que tiene que ver con un auto, un vehículo o una maquina, si su preparación es la correcta el podrá llegar a obtener empleos que jamás hubiera pensado, lo importante es que no se pierda de vista en sus objetivos y que se animen a estudiar una carrera que tenga que ver con la ingeniería mecánica.
